stay at Home Collection: Social Media Addiction in 3.

The Stay at Home Collection is a conceptual 3D animation project that reflects the effects of social media and digital consumption during the 2020 lockdown era. The piece uses a clever metaphor of pharmaceutical packaging to depict how platforms like Netflix, Zoom, and Facebook became essential “medications” for many, with humorous side effects and doses.

The Stay at Home Collection serves as a visual commentary on the dependence and overconsumption of digital content during the COVID-19 lockdown. The pill-like packaging symbolizes how we medicated our boredom and isolation through these platforms, with a satirical edge addressing the humorous yet dark “side effects” of our digital habits.

The animation features three distinct pill containers, each representing a digital platform turned into a fictional pharmaceutical product. These containers sit on sturdy pillars, showcasing their role as essential lockdown remedies. The 3D modeling, texturing, and animation were crafted to mimic the aesthetic of prescription pill bottles while incorporating playful details for each platform.

The project was modeled, rendered, and animated using Cinema 4D and After Effects, with additional texturing and lighting to create the clean yet quirky pharmaceutical aesthetic. The lighting and reflections enhance the metallic look of the foil Zoom capsules and the glossy sheen of the Netflix and Facebook pills.
